Suddenly Sunday - finally feels like Fall edition

Hello!  How the heck are you?  I am fine and no I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.  Sorry, but activities in real life take precedence over the blog, especially when it's your job.  Got to pay those bills.  It's  struggle to juggle everything including crazy coworkers, but that's a topic for another day.  Anyways, here's me catching up:

It along: Ah no, this book was so not for me.  I got to page 300 and threw the book in the trash.  Literally.  This book reminded me why I stopped reading King.  Too long and drawn out, and sorry not frightened in the least.  There's one more King book I'll try but not until at least next year.  Maybe it was the back-to-back of The Stand and IT, not sure, but certainly didn't help.

Demise of Feedburner: Wth?  I really have been busy.  Not sure what to do about this, but I guess make sure everyone can resubscribe some way?  I assume Blogger has a gadget for that?

TV: Bit too busy for new TV shows, so going with the old standards of Homeland, Sons of Anarchy, Fringe (last season sniff-sniff), Once Upon a Time.  Tried Revolution, and couldn't do it.  In the middle of episode 2, I realized I liked no one, and wanted them to all die.  That's when you know the show is not working for you.  I will say Giancarlo Esposito...I love you baby, but even you can't save this show.

What I'm reading now: Ruins of Lace by Iris Anthony, and enjoying it quite a bit.  I've read quite a few good books lately, and yes reviews are coming, even if they are short and sweet.

Future reading: I have two big classic chunksters I want to read: Bleak House and The Three Musketeers.  I was going to start Bleak House in November, and do a read-along, but I think this may be too sad for holiday time???  Whereas sword fighting and camaraderie is good anytime of the year, especially the holidays.  Plus, I know Trish has both of these on her list of classics to read.  So, let me know in the comments your choice is.  Whatever has the most votes will be read starting  November 1st.  since both are quite big and it's the holidays, the read-along will go until January 31st.  Check-in posts maybe every two weeks, or is that too much?

Well I think that's all for now, at least all that's important.  No one wants to hear about work.  Soon, I'll update you on the knitting front.  Speaking of, for any of you knitters out there, I'm going to Stitches East next weekend with my knitting posse, so if you're going to be there, drop me a line.

What's new with you this Sunday?  Hope all is well for you and thanks for hanging in there with me and my sporadic blogging and commenting.  You are da best!  Have a wonderful week and happy reading :)

(Trish, thanks for poking me.  Sorry I didn't make that Wednesday deadline.)

Well that's good, but I still don't know what to do about it...whatever right?
I feel ya girl on TV. I thank goodness for Hulu Plus. It allows me to catch up on all my shows at my own pace.

I haven't tried Revolution. My husband likes it. But yah, if you aren't connecting with the characters - forget it.

I haven't tried Once Upon a Time this season yet. I enjoyed last season but I'm not really sure I care anymore.

I'm on this new kick were I only want happy or mysterious things. No more drama.

I feel ya on FeedBurner. I think I'm just going to wait and see. Let the dust settle and see what happens.

Letting the dust settle is a good idea., with respect to Feedburner. It's not like I'm trying to build a business or anything.

Happy and Mysterious things sound good to me also. Have you checked out Elementary? Not bad. I liked it quite a bit. Plus I usually like anything Lucy Liu is in.
I haven't but it's on my list. I'm thinking I'll catch up on that one during the Christmas break when all my shows are on hiatus. ;)
Oh, that sucks about IT. I know King tends to draw it on forever sometimes.
lol about Revolution, I wanted to make time to watch that but never got around to it. Enjoy your reading Jenny :)

Give Revolution a try...don't go by me, because I tend to have a short fuse with new TV.

Enjoy your reading Nadia :)
Yes, it feels like Fall... Looks like you got some good reading planned. I plan to catch up on my challenges in Nov and Dec.

Ah challenges! I gave up on them myself because I never did well. I like the ideas in theory, but I never follow through.
Good luck Laura.
I vote Bleak House because I already have a copy of it and kind of had it in my mind that this was going to be my next readalong. If you want to wait, though, I totally understand. Either way I'll be listening and reading so it's no big deal if you rather Musketeers...

I'm sorry about IT. I loved the first half but then after that... I think my problem is taking midway breaks while reading King. Just can't keep the momentum up!

Sons. It's getting too dark for me, I think. The last episode we watched was the one with Op and I had to walk away. Thankfully I was warned. And ya--NO interest in Revolution. Just don't care in the least.

PS--seeing this post this morning made me smile. :)

Well not only because you're my friend, but also you're the only vote... Bleak House it is. I'm working a book now (Ruins of Lace) and when I'm finished with that, I'll start Mr. Dickens. I was thinking November through January due to the holidays...what do you think?

At least you stuck with King. My patience wears too thin these days.

I was SO FRACKING UPSET about Op. I can't believe he went there. However, I think that's what Jax needs to push him towards his end game. I read an interview Sutter did, and he said it clouds the last few seasons of the show. I think it's only supposed to go 7 seasons anyway.

I was glad I made you smile. Sorry I broke my promise but I will try to do better :) Even if it just a hey! Have a good one Pumpkin!
That'll work for me! Just keep me posted. I'll be gone the last week this month (hello Ireland) but should hopefully be reading slowing down a bit.____And yes--ready for some of the end game with Sons.
Oh Ireland? Have a brilliant time :)
Poor, poor IT.

:-D

I was actually bored for a good 2/3 of the book (not all, but most), but hung in there and was hooked by the end. Still prefer The Stand, though. And I just finished listening to 11/22/63 and it's my new favorite. But yeah, King is WAY too wordy.

At least I gave IT a try. I still want to read Salem's Lot, and then I think that will be all of Mr. King.
Glad you stuck with IT. You're a better woman than me :)
Enjoy your weekend!
Yep life and work takes precedence but I like to get caught up on what you've been up to so thanks for the update. I've just had an unplanned week offline, a family friend passed away and I just couldn't be bothered with blogging ... so I didn't lol

I'm loving season 3 of Downton Abbey and we watch Fringe and Once Upon A Time too, along with Grey's and Private Practice lol. I've got Homeland but haven't watched any yet.

Don't think I'll be joining you for the Bleak House readalong, my reading mojo won't cope with a big, dreary chunkster ;)
Enjoy Stitches East ... looking forward to your knitting update

I am sorry to hear of your loss. That can be tough and certainly makes you not want to be bothered with anything. I'll keep you in my thoughts. I do always anyway :)

I have to finish Season 2 of Downton first. I know, I know, but it wasn't on Netflix when I had it. They will re-run it eventually. Fringe is awesome this year! So sad it's going bye-bye :( As for Once, I plan on catching up latertonightor tomorrow. Just two episodes behind.

I started Bleak House already and it's not bad so far. fingers-crossed. Hope it continues that way.
Stitches East was a blat, butdefinitely sensoryoverload :)

Pictures to come soon. Have a lovely week my Australian sister.
Too bad IT didn't work for you. It took me forever but I got into it eventually. Which why I can't join you on your Bleak House read. My precious reading hours need shorter books for awhile! I look forward to your posts though.__We're still watching Survivor here (go Malcolm!) and are trying 666, Last Resort and Elementary. They have 5 episodes to win us over and then we'll decide their fate (insert evil laugh here).__

I still like Survivor too! Yes go Malcolm! I like Pinner too and the ball player even though he's a millionaire.
lol love the evil laugh :)

i understand reading hours are precious, so heads up, doing Three Musketeers after New year's...if you're interested. Have a great week Stacy :)
I like Pinner too. I was nervous for him last week :)
Me too! So far I like almost everyone on this season. Should be a good finish :)
