Rating System and Review Disclaimer

Rating System

I use a rating system similar to the grading systems used in schools. Instead of A+, A, A-, B+, etc., I assign numbers. I feel it allows for better delineation and scoring rather than a 5 point scale. I measure things in my job using this type of system and it makes more sense to me. These numbers more accurately represent how I feel about a book.

So without further ado:

100-90 would be in the A range
89-80 would be in the B range
79-70 would be in the C range
69-60 would be in the D range
59-0 would be a failure, so why assign a letter.

Honestly, I will not finish books I don't like for some reason. I don't see the point when I have so many other books I want to read. Therefore, 99% of the time I like all the books I read, but some not as much as others.

Review Disclaimer

I do not receive compensation of any kind, monetary or otherwise, for the books I review here. I give my honest opinion regardless of the source of the book as well. If I don't like a book, I will say so honestly, and not maliciously. Sometimes I won't even finish the book at all.

Hallo Ciji

Are you still accepting review requests?

"To Say Nothing of the Dog" is one of the funniest books written in 20th-century.
Would you be interested in reviewing my linked short-story collection 'Treading the Uneven Road'? It will be released at March 15th by Fomite Press. It is approx. 50000 words.

The stories in this linked collection are set in a small village in the Northwest of Ireland in the early 1980’s and 90’s. A by-pass around the village has rid them of their once busy traffic. The residents feel forgotten by the world. The need to reach out and be heard is explored in every story, from the young woman who starts to have phone conversations with her husband’s gay lover, to the dyslexic man who confronts his cruel teacher years later.
The collection is not only about the characters need for salvation but it is about a society that is unraveling. In Amends, we hear about the Bishop who has fathered a child. A priest is beckoned by a dying man to be mocked. The world inside and outside the village is changing. In every story the characters need to make a choice on how they might carry on.

The blurb from Pamela Painter, author of Getting To Know The Weather, and The Long and Short of it--
Set in Ireland, the wonderful stories in TREADING THE UNEVEN ROAD are connected with bands of steel and heart. Their unforgettable characters weave in and out of each other’s lives, acting on impulses that are sometimes misguided, occasionally dangerous but often beautiful. A great read.

My novel Debris was released last April. I have a master in creative writing and my stories have appeared in numerous literary magazines. I am from Sligo, Ireland but presently reside in Massachusetts. May I send you a copy of the book? I can send kindle version or PDF and spec sheet.

I will look forward to hearing from you, best wishes Lorna https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43565972-trea...
