What's up Wednesday?

Hello Everyone!  Hope this finds you all fine and doing well early in 2012.  I really meant to post this earlier but the day just got away from me.  You know it’s that work thing.  The last few weeks, I have been trying to clean up for 2012; write those old reviews, organize things, plan what to do for 2012.  The next several book reviews will be ones that have been hanging since last year.  I’ve also decided not to do that wrap up of DNF books from last year, because do really want to hear about that?  I didn’t finish the book because it wasn’t for me, for whatever reason.  We have all done it.  You know how these things happen.  So why rehash that.

On the reading front, things are going pretty well.  Currently, I am participating in a yearlong read-a-long of Middlemarch hosted by dovegreyreader at dovegreyreaderscribbles.  She is from Devonshire in the U.K. and her blog is quite interesting.  You should check it out and if you’re interested in the read-a-long, search for posts labeled Team Middlemarch.  We are reading it according to how the original work was published in 1871.  There are 8 parts and the first one, titled Miss Brooke, was published December 1, 1871.  This section should be completed by January 22, 2012, for discussion purposes.  If you so choose.  Here’s the link to the post kicking things off.  The post is also chock full of information about Middlemarch.  I really liked Miss Brooke and didn’t take me that long to read it.

In non-reading news, I will also start posting bits and pieces about fitness every other Friday.  I plan on calling it Fitness Friday, because you know, it’s got to rhyme.  Many people have said how they want to get moving, lose weight, stay on track, whatever, so I figured I would try and help out or assist.  I am by no means a fitness guru, but I do the best I can, and I love to share information.   The first post will be this Friday.  (Ha! And I said I wanted to simplify my life.)

Well I think I’ve chatted enough today.  What do you all have going on?  Hope your day is wonderful and your books are fab J

Yes, Middlemarch. I read an HF book about George Eliot, plus I've always wanted to read it for some reason. I bought it at the library festival two years ago, but it's such a chunskter. This read-along is the best for me.

On theFitnessFriday: any way that I could help others, I'm down with that. Plus I can help you avoid mistakes and silly things I have done :)
Hope you have a good rest of the week!

Thanks Nan! You too :)
Thanks Nan! You too and enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
Looking forward to your Fitness Friday posts, what a great idea. Enjoy Middlemarch :)
As for myself, I'm trying to get my review of IT ready to post at my blog, then I have to decide what to read next. So many books, so little time :P

Thanks Naida. I just requested IT from Paperbackswap. You know like I need another book in my pile. I would say read something light next, considering IT is creepy and deep.
Great plans, good luck.
Fitness Friday ... love it, staying on track isn't my problem, I need a firecracker to get me started hahaha

If I lived in your neck of the woods I would make you my gym buddy :)
I worked out today!!!!!!!! Only because my mom made me. :) But I really really really am going to start again. If only because if I don't then I'll eventually have to buy new maternity clothes when I get pregnant again. Ha!!!

Have fun with Middlemarch. It's a great book but quite the doozy.

YEA! Woo-hoo for working out. Good job Mom. Now try again over the weekend and before you know it working out will be a habit. Plus I can see Elle laughing at you as you do it in form of the tv. Entertains mom and baby :)
Enjoy your weekend sweetie!
I hope 2012 is going to be a great year for you Jen! I have yet to make any plans for this year. I've been horrible about doing updates and things on my reading. When I finally get around to it, it'll be the middle of this year. Lol.

I hope you enjoy Middlemarch. I've always wanted to read it but I'm not sure I want to tackle it this year.

Anyhow, good luck with your fitness goals. I'll be cheering you on!

Thanks Darlene. Middlemarch is probably best in little pieces. The first piece was only about 128 pages maybe a little more since it was small print. It read well.
Good luck getting updated and such. I know it can be difficult to do that. It's alwayssomethingDarlene :)
Enjoy MIDDLEMARCH. It is a great book; there is so much food for thought.

Good luck with Fitness Friday! I know I need all the help I can get, so I look forward to some much-needed kicks in the rear from you!

I've gone back & forth about the DNF. I have 2 from last year and I have a post saved but have never posted it. I like to see why a person didn't finish a book, but when I do it it just seems mean.
I chose 2 healthy resolutions for January, easy ones that I have to work to accomplish but aren't too big to scare me off (10,000 steps & 8 glasses of water). So, hopefully by the end of the month both of these will be good habits. I'm thinking I might go vegetarian for February and see what happens :)

DNF: me too. I want to tell people why but Sometimes my reasons sound so mean.

Yea for healthy resolutions Stacy! Definitely doable. Try fruit in your water if plain water is too bland. Vegetarian huh? I know I can't do that. I like my meat. However, I am trying to choose healthieroptions, like whole grain, low fat cheese, etc. Good luckStacyand I'll be your cheerleader for the veggie cuisine. Some soy options are not that bad :)
