Suddenly Sunday: Not much going on here

Hi ya!  How are you this fine Sunday?  Hope you are all well and warm.  It's been Arctic here in Philly, and enough is enough I say.

Not much going on with me lately.  Busy with work, reading some good books, and doing a lot of knitting.  I should be doing work on the weekends, but I'm so tired form being busy during the week, I just sit and knit and veg out.  Watching lots of crappy TV too.  More like background noise really.
Although, I have been keeping up with Downton Abbey season 3 (episodes available online at Masterpiece Theater).  I've been enjoying it, but the last episode started to wear on me a bit.  When will Bates get justice?  When will the Crawleys come round to economizing?  Has Edith finally found herself?  Oh Ethel!  My heart does break for you.  I do lose sense of time when I watch this show.

The other thing I have to share is knitting.  The first thing is my sweater for Kona, who celebrates her one year anniversary with us this week.  Yea Kona!

Isn't she such a great model?  She would wear this all day long if she could, especially with this cold weather.
And for me I made a beret from left over yarn from a previous project:

This was done for the Use It or Lose It (UILI) challenge on Ravelry (Ravelry link) from the Stash and Burn podcast.  Basically, any yarn that you have been holding onto in your stash, for whatever reason, it's time to use it or lose it.  No hard and fast rules, but like Mt. TBR and finally reading those books, UILI is all about finally knitting that yarn you've been hanging onto for a while.  So you can be sure there will be more of these projects coming your way.

That's all I have for this week.  don't forget you still have time left to enter my January 2013 Culling of the Book Shelves contest, if you are so inclined.  Until next time, happy reading and hope your week is fantastic!  :)

I can't believe it's already been a year with Kona. How time flies.

I'm vegging this weekend too. The extreme cold here in Montreal is wearisome. I'm also starting to feel the same about Downton Abbey. Something has got to start happening! Your knitting is awesome, by the way. Love the beret and the adorable sweater for Kona.

Hi Jenny! I am very impressed with your knitting. I'm lucky if my creations even look like what they are supposed to be, lol. Have a great week :)

The beret is awesome! my dogs have fleece jackets. I don't think they would enjoy anything knitted - they'd have it unraveled in a second.
Hi Jenny, those are wonderful knit projects! Kona looks great in the sweater! And the hat is so nice! I so need to watch Downton Abbey, I've heard great things.
I've been vegging out or traveling the last few weekens. I can't wait for a chill Sunday at home. I love Kona's sweater, what a lucky dog!
Kona got even cuter! That sweater is adorable :) And the hat is so cute. I'm a hat girl. Veg out as much as possible, it's a luxury :)
That hat is adorable! I love berets and am really into hats this winter. I've definitely gotten over my fear of hat head in favor of being warm. LOL!

I've been trying to chill as much as possible too, although with Jim home for the past few weekends, I haven't gotten as much reading or vegging done as I would prefer. It's the one downside of having him home, but I'll take it!

Have a great week and stay warm!
Sunday was very much like that for me as well. I spent a lot of time working on a bird quilt for a friend's mother. a bunch of applique for some sashing. Then when my eyes were tired i turned to the knitting. working on some mitts for my sister. a few more rows and then the thumbs to do. yippee. Won't make it to her by her birthday, but it will still be winter.
YAY Kona, she looks so darn cute in her sweater, you are so clever. I love berets too and yours is great! I've finished watching season 3 of Downton and the Christmas special, i love that show sooo much but I was gutted at the ending ... waaah. Now the long wait for season 4 to start in the UK
Have a wonderful week my friend and happy reading
I love Kona's sweater! I've been thinking of attempting to knit one for Sam but haven't yet. I found some patterns that didn't look too complicated so I may try. Love the beret as well! I've been busy knitting wrist warmers - I'll try to remember and post a pic of them on Sunday and a hat. All through December and January I was the same as you - watched tv and knitted. It's a great way to spend our time isn't it. Lol.
I love your hat but goodness Kona looks cute in that sweater. And a year!! I can't believe it's been a year since she's joined your family. So glad that you were able to give her such a loving home.

I got halfway through the season finale of Downton so I'll probably finish it up tonight. Wishing those seasons weren't so short!!
