So what do you think?

Ever since I started this blog, I have struggled with how it should look. I always wanted three columns, and that took me a while, and many mistakes. I ended up going with a template instead of editing the HTML, and then I couldn't have a header image. I had an online friend help me, Jill from Sneaky Momma Blog Design, and we still couldn't get it to work. So I gave up...for a while.

I played with my test blog, and created the tabs under the header. Then I monkeyed with the HTML and came up with what you see here. I thought it would be columns on either side of the main post page, but it's not, and I'm not sure why.
But I think I like it. It's different, and I like being a bit different.

My other issue was this blog represents me. Who and what I am...like a brand. So what is my brand, or what do people associate with me besides books? Amy is My Friend Amy, Burton Reviews has that beautiful house and color scheme, and Linda of Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell has those fabulous paintings (my current header is one from the same artist as well. His name is escaping me).

So you see, I guess I am having trouble identifying myself, and I require your assistance. What do you think? Do you like what I have done with the place? Please be honest. I appreciate your thoughts, as always :)

I think it looks great! The header is just beautiful - I love the 'What book shall I read today? I've seen the blogs with the two columns off to the side and I don't mind that look either. I've tried getting some tabs for myself but with no success yet. I'm still working on that.

I like the look of your blog, though I am guilty of reading mostly in the google reader, and visit only to post usually LOL (Sad I know) - but I like the colors, and like that you dont have music or to much going on, which can be distracting, I am beginning to think mine is TOOO much!

it looks good! i love the header! and i think 3 columns works and i like that you don't have a lot of stuff (i.e., flashing, moving, too much colors) on your side bar (LOL but i'm guilty of that on my blog).

Well personally I think it looks gorgeous. I visit your blog every day and when I came to it today my jaw literally dropped. So pretty! You did an awesome job. I'm struggling with the layout of my blog right now too. Working on it a little every week.

Can't say I recognize it, I do tend to go for waterhouse, is it him? And I do not know all his paintings.

Anyway, I kind of liked what you did here. The 2 columns on both side, even if a mistake is cool and different. The yellow fits great, it seems very you. And that header is just lovely, but then I do have a passion for those ;)

So I would say the place looks great, but I get your concern, I got like that too, before I understood that what i had created was me

I love the new look! I have seen other blogs with both columns on one side...I think it looks wonderful. The yellow is very easy on the eyes, and your header is gorgeous.

If you visit my blog regularly, you know I change mine constantly...which is consistent with how I am personally. I am kind of flighty, and can't sit still very long, so, my blog changes with my moods!

Good job!

Thanks for mentioning me =) That was a surprise!
And I like this look better than the older one. This is classy, & of course the header is gorgeous. The header looks like a Waterhouse, but there were many who painted in that pre-rephaelite style so I have no idea in particular. I love those paintings though!
Such a warm nostaligic feeling here, & I like it.
Since I forked out $$ for my background, I'm keeping mine for a while.. you are lucky you do get to switch it out as your whim desires.

And it took me a few months to give in to the 3 column look myself, but I am glad I did. Otherwise everything else gets lost from the middle down, so the three column is functionable.
I like the way you have yours laid out, also.
Good job!

I think your site looks fantastic, the layout is lovely the colours are brilliant! I always wanted the buttons on the top, but could not figure it out. I like both the columns on one side. I say you have perfected your look. Want to fix mine? ;)

I love it. It's soft, warm, and inviting. It makes you want to read on. If I hadn't gotten to know you first by e-mail, my first impression would have been that this blogger is a nice person, which makes all the difference to me.

I love it! The color and header are very nice. And since I have two columns on one side I like this look too! I really need to do some tweaking of my own.

I think anything you do will be great Jenny. Just make sure that it represents who you are and not anyone else!! That's why I love reading blogs so much because each person's personality seems to come through!! I have yet to figure out how to do 3 columns or those cool tabs!!

I love the new header pic and tag line. The 3-columns are efficient (I switched to 3 columns this past week, but one on each side of center column).

Do you want to incorporate more of the paintings into your "look"? Does you avatar match with the header somehow?

Thank you very much Ladies! Sometimes what one may find easy on the eyes may not be to others.

Dawn: My avatar only matches in the sense that both are red heads, and so am I. I've used my avatar for over a year, and don't want to change it.
